Pokalde Peak, also known as Dolma Ri, is a 5,806 meter (19,049 ft) mountain in Nepal’s Khumbu region. It is a popular destination for trekkers and climbers because it is one of the easiest trekking peaks in the Everest region and you can climb this peak without Peak Permit (free).
Pokalde Peak is 12 km southwest of Mount Everest. The base camp is located below the Kongma La pass, which overlooks a large lake.
The climb from base camp to the summit is considered moderate to relatively easy. The majority of the climb is walking with some scrambling up rocks. However, the section near the summit is more physically demanding, requiring rope and scrambling.
The best time to climb is during the spring (March–May) or autumn (September–November) when the weather is clear and visibility is good.
The summit offers great views, especially to the southeast, northwest, and west. Other prominent mountains that are visible from the summit include Makalu, Ama Dablam, and Pumori.
